Disaster - Flood

In July we were unfortunately hit by very heavy rain which flooded our house.

Inside on the carpets that were laid three months before....






And outside in the garden my Mum had just spent hours tidying up. These pictures were taken once the water had gone down enough so we could get into the house - it was much worse!

Adventures in tiling

Finally, in July I got round to doing the tiling in the kitchen. My step dad was visiting and he taught me how to do it. Paul went away for one night and when he came back it was done!

Paul attacks the jungle

Bless him, he did most of this in the rain too! Starting to look good though. Can't wait to see what we have under all of the rest of it.

Outside

I already have a hanging basket - and I have planted some clematis, honeysuckle and jasmine to go over the arches.

The grass has been mown and the house looks lovely from the front.

The back garden looks like a jungle now. Paul cannot stand it but I really wanted to get everything straight inside before we start on the back garden.

The weeds are huge!!!!! This one comes up to my waist now.

I made Paul a little herb garden as a present.
This is actually gone now but for a while we had our very own modern art sculpture in the back garden. We called it Chav Garden.

Shiny new house

Finally!

We have internet! However it has come back at a really busy time - we have had dinner guests twice this week and my Dad and Step Mum Lin are coming to stay this weekend.

I do have loads of pictures to put up so I will do it on Monday.

Adventures in Lino

Paul and I decided that we would manage to fit the small pieces of lino in the toilet and the bathroom ourselves.

It probably would have been easier if the floor was flat but eventually Bodgit (me) and Legit (Paul) finished.

I love the colours, just please do not look too closely at the edges!!!

Helping hands

Paul's friend Paul was around this weekend to change all the old sockets and light fitting and light switches for new ones.

(oh and if you are reading this Paul says that that just about makes you even for the help with the coving....don't forget you also owe him for the decking!!!)

Painting, painting and more painting.

The majority of the work we had to get done this weekend was painting (that and cleaning but I seemed to be painting all the time!) After trying about 10 different colours on the walls in the living room I ended up with cream! (actually Angora)
